Excellent lunch! We were on a time crunch since our tour bus was leaving in short order, but we stopped into the restaurant anyway and we were so relieved that we did. The food was excellent and it came out incredibly fast. Our server was friendly and happy to accommodate us being in a hurry.
Excellent Meal- Delicious & Memorable! We were so fortunate that they agreed to seat us just 10 minutes before closing, because it would have been a shame to miss this excellent meal. All four of us greatly enjoyed the Sunday fried green tomato/crawfish special that included a mimosa. The bread pudding and chocolate pecan pie were the best of the three restaurants where we ordered desserts. The service was fantastic and there is a wonderful gift shop where many of their recipes are available on cards for purchase. We did not tour the plantation, but we are certainly glad we stopped here for this delicious, memorable meal.
Great food and service! We stopped on here on a plantation road trip, and I'm glad we did! The food was lovely and our waitress (Sadie) was very friendly and helpful. We had gator bites, then I had a Po Boy and she had a Cajun Medley, we both shared a flight of three different mint juleps. Then finished with Pecan Pie and ice cream. All the food was delicious and as I said, Sadie was an excellent hostess. Recommended, and just a tip - you do not have to tour the plantation to visit, if you drive to the far side of the main car park there is a service road and parking for the restaurant there. James
Excellent! This is a stand alone restaurant worthy of a visit whether you're there to visit the plantation or not. It's nice inside, but not posh like the plantation house. Our lunch of shrimp au gratin was outstanding! Rich and creamy with a hint of spice, accompanied by soft, fresh bread and salad, this was a really good meal! We also ordered the garden salad. The veggies had a lot of taste and it was a generous helping. The service was good and the view out the window was interesting. We sat in the small back porch area of the building looking out. There are a couple of other rooms with no windows. Sitting with the windows is much nicer. Our server brought a dessert tray out after lunch but we were too full. Everything looked good though...and very rich! I'd definitely eat here again!
BEST EVER! I love this place! Breakfast is amazing. Lunch or dinner (early because they close early) but whatever the case, you will love it! They have their own Sugar Cane Syrup that just makes it even better at breakfast. I cannot wait to go back in a few months! Attached to the restaurant, if you have to wait, is their gift shop! They will even call you when your table is ready! Tracey, Abilene, TX
I had lunch at Oak Alley today. The steak and croissant was delicious. BUT, the crème brulee was fantastic. Oh my!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience last weekend, thank you so very much for all the attention given to details! We also greatly appreciated being surrounded with so many beautiful antiques and other considerations while staying in Cottage 3! I generally do a lot of research before going to a new place to be as familiar as possible when I arrive, and there were still many wonderful things to learn when we got there, in addition to being a special photographic opportunity. Wonderful on so many levels! Our greatest thanks to the Stewart family for making this all happen, keeping a priceless piece of history in motion and presenting it in such a respectable way, providing many jobs for the local community, just can't say enough good things about what this place represents. Thank you, thank you, thank you! John and Pamela
My wife and I stayed at Oak Alley earlier this week, Sept. 20-22. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. I had searched for the perfect place, and I must say that I found it. Our stay was wonderful and could not have been any better. I just wanted to send an email and let you know. Thanks for a wonderful time. Stephen, Scobey, MS
"Our stay on April 4th in cottage 3 was an absolute highlight to a trip that included New Orleans, Ocean Springs MS, and St. Martinsville. The staff at Oak Alley were impeccable not only with service, beginning with the lemonade at check, friendly from the registration desk tot he golf cart escort, to our tour guide at the big house, the cottage review, the suggestion of chilled wine at the gift shop, to the amazing Blue Bell Creole Cream Cheese ice cream and its server; but to the fun bantering, lighthearted and kind employees who were gracious and what southern hospitality is all about. My husband commented that whoever does the hiring should be given high praise for Oak Alley staff.
The Do Not Disturb package was an added bonus and such a pleasure at such a reasonable price! Strolling the grounds after hours with a mint julep and Easter morning breakfast with the best, creamiest grits I ate the whole trip (my husband is a yankee so I got his too!!) was a delight. An additional bonus was a full moon sitting out on the deck.
WE could not have asked for more and sorry to have missed meeting you. I have praised our experience from Houston to Albuquerque. All the best for the rest of the season to you and your staff. Laura, Tijeras, NM
Absolutely jaw-dropping. Great scenery, too! -- Tiffany from Illinois
Love, love, loved it! - Stacie from Louisiana

Oak Alley Management and Staff,
Thank you so much for your hospitality and professionalism. We stayed in the Rene House, New Orleans room. My new husband Joey and I love to travel and see beautiful places. He is a teacher, exhibiting photographer, and painter. I am an interior designer here in Texas, and I was so inspired by the architecture, the landscape design preservation of the grounds, and the preservation of the interiors. We cannot express our gratitude enough. We look forward to returning with
a group of friends, so they too may experience a little of the
majestic that is Oak Alley Plantation.
Everything was simply magical and we can't wait to visit again!!
We toured Oak Alley this past Saturday and found the plantation to be a wonderful excursion for the day. We decided to eat at the plantation restaurant which was very nice and we really appreciated how everyone was so kind and helpful.
My partner and I would definitely recommend to others to make a stop at Oak Alley when visiting New Orleans.
I was there last Friday and enjoyed the tour, beautiful grounds and the Colonel. He is a wonderful addition. He is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to speak with. I hope to see him next time.
Thank you for preserving history.
Jordan and I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your hard work with our wedding! Everyone we worked with or encountered was professional, friendly, efficient and perhaps most importantly for me, calming!
I had the utmost confidence in everyone's abilities, and for good reason-- you far surpassed our expectations and all of our guests got to enjoy what true Southern hospitality is.
The evening was magical, and the ladies on staff in the house were not only totally on top of things but had a very soothing nature which I really appreciated.
Bravo to your exceptional team, and we look forward to the next time we get to visit Oak Alley!
Elizabeth & Jordan
Thank you so much the hospitality shown us during our group's visit to Oak Alley. Our members thoroughly enjoyed their visit -- and the buffet lunch at the pavilion was a huge hit. Plus, you ordered up such a beautiful day for our visit.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to each and every person responsible for one of the best vacations we've ever had! Our stay on May 23rd and 24th in cottage 4 was amazing. The cottage was superb, spacious, clean and like a home away from home. The location, as always, was perfect being right there at Oak Alley.
This was our second stay with you, and we will definitely be returning many times. Oak Alley is one of my very favorite places. Louisiana is just an amazing place with so much to see and do. After an extended stay in New Orleans, we really look forward to the peace and tranquility Oak Alley is so famous for!
Once again, my daughter was totally in love with the bed and bedding she had. She still talks of our first stay with you, and the insanely comfortable bed and bedding she had then!!
Again, I want to extend my sincere and heartfelt thank you to...Housekeeping, for the impeccably clean and cozy cottage. Restaurant employees and chef, for the wonderful service, delicious meals and cozy atmosphere. Groundskeeping, for the beautifully groomed gardens, trees and grounds that add so much to the visual beauty of Oak Alley! Gift Shop employees, for being so helpful, kind and hospitable. You always make my shopping experience a joy! Ticket Office and Late Night Check In Staff, for your help with questions, burned out light bulbs, and the professionalism you convey. Reservation Staff, for your kindness, patience and help on the phone. Mansion Staff and tour guides, for the amazing upkeep, beautiful display of fresh floral arrangements, wonderful tours and expertise of one of the most beautiful places in Louisiana!
Mr. and Mrs. Mayhew, for all of the hard work, dedication, and love you have poured into your Beautiful Oak Alley.Thank you for sharing with us, this delightful piece of paradise, and your beautiful flower gardens. I hope I haven't forgotten any of the talented, hardworking and loyal people that so deserve to be thanked. Oak Alley wouldn't be the amazingly beautiful and wonderful place it is today without the time and dedication of each and every one of you.
We will see you in three years....if not sooner!!!
Best wishes to you all,
Just a note to tell you all how absolutely perfect our wedding was. From the food, to the cakes, to the service, it was all wonderful.
We had the best night ever and the pictures were so beautiful. Both families were so impressed and are still talking about it!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your help, you were the best!
Thanks so much!!!
Jamie and Blake
I just wanted to say thank you to you and everyone at Oak Alley! The wedding and reception were just beautiful! Lou and I and all our guests had a great time. Everyone has told me this was the prettiest and most fun wedding they have ever been to!
I think we have started a new tradition in our family for weddings! We have 6 daughters and nieces as potential future brides for Oak Alley. I'll send you some photos when they come in!
Again thanks for everything - you are a great wedding planner!
I visited Oak Alley on May 18; it had been many years since the last time I was there. Everything about the tour/restaurant/personnel was excellent. I really liked the addition of the Confederate field tent and the opportunity to learn more, one on one, about the history of the area/Civil War/Oak Alley.
All best wishes,
I just wanted to thank you for your help with our group. We were a little delayed due to the horrible storm (caused one of our buses to breakdown). Everyone was very accommodating! It was so nice to have the gift shop kept open later than usual. The food was delicious!! We all really loved the tour.
Several of the other choral groups were envious that we visited Oak Alley! They visited others.
Thank you again,
Everyone loved the visit to Oak Alley and our dinner was wonderful! Thanks for all your help in making it effortless.
Please extend our thanks to the Chef, Tour Guides and all the staff who helped make it a success.
My husband an I stayed in house number 4 for one night. We toured the big house and walked the grounds. It was truly the most wonderful time my husband and I had ever had in our 12 years of marriage.
Thank you four such a great experience. We hope to come back soon.
Theresa & James
Thank you again for your help. The surprise birthday party for my dad was very successful. He didn’t have a clue. The turnout was wonderful. I even met cousins for the first time. You know how Cajuns are. Large families.
Everyone stated that using Oak Alley was a great idea and were very impressed with your pavilion and I was too. Even nicer than I remembered.
Thank you for his hospitality that day. Have a great year!
We are both so happy with the way your entire staff handled everything. They did an amazing job and we could not have had a better, more magical night. Our guests were very impressed and happy (despite the plan B due to the rain) Everything was perfect!
We look forward to visiting Oak Alley whenever possible. Please give our regards to everyone that worked on our special day.
Mr. & Mrs. Soreng
I just wanted to let you know what a lovely time we had. Our server for lunch was very helpful and nice. The gift shop had some very interesting and unique items. Our "big house" guide was very informative and made the tour very enjoyable. Especially informative and interesting for me was my discussion with the Colonel. I have a special interest in the Civil War era.
Thank you all for preserving this home. I felt special closeness to all of the people who owned or just love this home.
Thank you for an amazing event yesterday! The restaurant was absolutely perfect...and the food was even better! The wait staff was incredibly polite and attentive...and even assisted us in judging our costume contest!
Again, we appreciate everything you did for us and look forward to returning soon! I tried to thank everyone before I left – but in case I missed someone please pass along my appreciation. The day was perfect!
I just wanted to say Thank You for your perfect hospitality. I recently stayed with you in the Renee house. My only regret is that I did not stay longer. The room was wonderful, very restful sleeping and comfort. I wish I was not so tired, so I could have toured the grounds at night. I explored a little and it was just truly magical.
But, I really want to say a special thank you to the wonderful hostess in the Restaurant. She had a very unique name and just the most wonderful personality. She took time to chat with me and also showed concern about me traveling by myself. The menu in the restaurant was awesome, everything I had down to my virgin mint julep on the porch of the house was great. (I ended up buying 2 bottles of syrup to bring home to VA).
I will definitely be visiting Oak Ally and the wonderful people I had the pleasure of meeting again.
I want to thank you and the wonderful staff at Oak Alley Plantation for my daughter's dream wedding. We cannot believe how beautiful and perfect everything was.
From the plantation site, the staff, the wedding cake, the delicious food, the photographers, the D.J, the horse and carriage, the weather (I know you had no part of that but zero humidity - wow), to the darling cottages, everything was PERFECT!
The restaurant and gift shop were great too! No one wanted to leave and felt almost homesick after leaving. What a wonderful place!! Thank all for sharing with us. Oak Alley will always remain in our hearts!
Thank you again,
